When you come to my town, you will see hell,
You will probably not make it in my town very well.
In my town, there is much segregation,
You will not find integration.
The town is divided between blacks and whites
They do not have the same rights.
The Farmer’s Café is the only thing they share
But none of the blacks are treated fair.
The bathrooms aren’t just separated by women and men
The blacks and whites are different yet again.
There is a movie theater for whites
And another one for blacks where they hang out on nights.
The waiting rooms are also split
Putting them together is not a good fit.
There are many families that live in a shack,
No people in my town are rich as a matter a fact.
To walk to school it would take a while,
You have to walk more than a mile.
Nobody in my town has a car,
We have to walk and that doesn't get you very far.
The living conditions here are not very good,
Living here is almost like living in the hood.
Our town is poor and the violence is spreading,
Good thing it has not lead to people beheading.
If you wanted food you would have to steal,
Unless you wanted to starve you would have to do this for real.
Nobody is treated with much care,
Having medicine in my town was very rare.
If you get sick then stay in bed,
Because if you don't you will end up dead.
